Summary

Description
English: Sedimentary and metamorphic rocks predominate on these mostly limestone hills. Shale, slate, and sandstone abound along with quartzite. This sandstone may have fractured from freezing and thawing. Its eventual outcome is what made a practicing geologist remark about this photo, "That's where sand comes from!.
