Description

Fridel Engert née Meyer (1904–1982), known to the public at that time as Fridel Meyer and in later years as Fridel Dalling-Hay, Havng set out in her kayak from Westminster, London, England, the photo shows her at Tynemouth, with the intention of circumnavigating the UK.

Notes:

  • (1) A full attempt has been made, via libraries, books, magazines, collections, archives, internet etc., to establish the name of the author. None has been found.
  • (2) Shields Daily News, 15 August 1933, page 5 says that this photograph was taken at Tynemouth, which would date the photo to August 1933.
