English: Coat of arms of the Fălcoianu family of Wallachian boyars. Tinctures and design for the bird as given in Emanuel Hagi-Mosco, Steme boerești din România, Bucharest: Socec, 1918 (also found in Memoria Oltului, 10/2012, p. 23); the species of bird is unidentified and its meaning unknown (as discussed in Tudor-Radu Tiron, "Bestiarul heraldic muntean. O încercare de sistematizare", Revista de Istorie Socială, XIII–XV, 2008–2010, p. 415). Crown, mont vert and lions with scimitars in supporters appear in Tudor Radu-Tiron, "Cimitirul Bellu din București – un ansamblu de heraldică monumentală boierească (a doua jumătate a secolului XIX – prima jumătate a secolului XX)", in Monumentul (Lucrările Simpozionului Național Monumentul – Tradiție și viitor Ediția a VIII-a), 2007, p. 478. |
