Article | |
Portion used |
Image on right side, the computer generated likeness, is the issue of the fair use label while the image on the left is regarded as the last photograph taken before the Panchen Lama was abducted. The image on the left is presently in Wikimedia library |
Low resolution? |
No; will pursue thumbnail sizing instructions |
Purpose of use |
The purpose of creating the image was to illustrate the resemblance of the abducted 11th Panchen Lama, Gedhun Choekyi Nyima, 25 years after his last photograph was taken and to broadcast his likeness in order to increase chances he would be located, and for other reasons. |
Replaceable? |
No, since it is the only widely used and generally approved likeness of the 11th Panchen Lama |
Other information |
The images together have encyclopedic value and it would be detrimental to the article if they were not used. The right side computer generated image is attributed to Tim Widdel, and notes on the image are visible but not totally legible. The note appears to be in both Tibetan and English, and seems to describe the image, while it could also indicate information on the copyright or fair use status. Other applicable fair use details are stated in summary |

Image created by Tim Widden, UK Specialist forensic artist".

- The numerous users of Widden's forensic image at public functions which focus on the history of the abduction and the whereabouts of the abducted Panchen Lama establish fair use, in this specific instance, on a page whose topic matches these current fair use examples.
