Description
English: Major Georges P. Vanier of the 22nd Battalion. He became Canada's 19th Governor General, serving from 1959 to 1967.
Français : Le major Georges P. Vanier du 22e Bataillon, en 1918. Sur cette photo, il porte sur les revers les insignes du 22e Battalion et sur la poitrine les rubans représentant ses décorations, dont la Croix militaire. Georges-Philéas Vanier (né le 23 avril 1888 à Montréal et décédé le 5 mars 1967 à Ottawa) sera plus tard le dix-neuvième gouverneur général du Canada, de 1959 à 1967. Selon la source [1], «À l'époque de cette photo, le bataillon de Vanier se trouve au sud d'Arras.»
