Elser wurde am 9.11.1939 festgenommen. Er hat ein Attentat
auf den Führer verübt, indem er im Bürgerbräukeller in München
eine Sprengladung anbrachte, die während der Rede des Führers am
8.11.1939 zur Explosion kommen sollte. Dadurch, dass die Rede des
Führers früher als in sonstigen Jahren begann und endete, wurde
der Erfolg vereitelt.
Elser wird verdächtigt, met dem Leiter der "Schwarzen Front"
Otto Strasser in Verbindung zu stehen.

Elser was arrested on 09.11.1939. He attempted the assassination of the Führer by installing an explosive charge in the Bürgerbräukeller in Munich, which was supposed to cause an explosion on 08/11/1939 during the speech of the Führer. The fact that the speech of the Führer began and ended earlier than in other years, thwarted the attempt.
Elser is suspected to have been in contact with the head of the "Black Front", Otto Strasser.
