English: Giving way to Irish in the Baile Ghib Gaeltacht The Baile Ghib or Gibbstown Gaeltacht was originally an area settled by families relocated from poor districts in the west of Ireland in the 1930's. Along with nearby Rath Cairn, it gained official Gaeltacht status in 1967.
