English: In the English spring of 1978 Split Enz were in a bit of strife having been dropped by their UK record label. They were in need of help and sought funding from the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council of New Zealand to help with living costs. Thankfully the New Zealand government were one step ahead of the situation in seeing the potential of the band and rightly approved $5000 to go to Split Enz.
