Wappenschild zweimal gespalten und zweimal geteilt mit Herzschild; Herzschild Stammwappen Hessen; I. Großherzogtum Fulda, II. (geteilt) oben Feld 1 und 4 Grafschaft Hanau, Feld 2 und 3 Grafschaft Rieneck, Herzschild Herrschaft Münzenberg, unten Grafschaft Katzenelnbogen; III. Fürstentum Hersfeld; IV. Grafschaft Ziegenhain; VI. Grafschaft Nidda; VII. Fürstentum Fritzlar; VIII. (geteilt) oben Grafschaft Diez, unten Grafschaft Schaumburg; IX. Fürstentum Isenburg
Auf dem von zwei königlich gekrönten, vorwärtssehenden, einschwänzigen, goldenen Löwen gehaltenen Schild ruht eine Königskrone (seit 1815, als Kurfürst Wilhelm I. auf dem Wiener Kongress das Prädikat „königliche Hoheit” zugestanden wurde). Unter dem Wappen befinden sich der Hessische Militär-Verdienstorden (Pour la vertu militaire), der Hausorden vom Goldenen Löwen und der Orden vom Eisernen Helm
