Summary

Description
English: Agriculture and the communities around the Hamun wetlands rely on Helmand river, but despite massive investments in infrastructure, water is becoming scarce on both sides of the Iran-Afghanistan border. According to the The Islamic Consultative Assembly (Iranian parliament), 25-30 percent of the region's population has emigrated to the suburbs of other cities in the past two decades due to water shortages.
