Summary

Description
English: Three extractions of Peganum harmala seeds. Both of Peganum harmala's major carbolines, harmaline and harmine, are extremely fluorescent compounds. When making an extraction some use a blacklight in order to determine if all of the compounds were extracted from the material, with each pull from the seeds the brew should be less and less fluorescent. This is wrong, if the concentration is to strong then the liquid will look darker and not brighter. If you take a some drops of that strong liquid in fresh water it will look more bright. I think it comes because the harmine/harmal absorbs all the UV light on the outside of the liquid.
