DescriptionHavant with Hayling Island train geograph-2687712-by-Ben-Brooksbank.jpg
English: Hayling Island train at Havant.
View eastward, towards Chichester and Brighton on the ex-LB%SCR Coast Line, the Hayling Island branch soon turning south. The locomotive is ex-LB&SC A1X class 0-6-0T No. 32661 (built 10/75 as class A1 No. 61 'Sutton', rebuilt 1/1912, withdrawn 4/63 (last of class)). It was necessary to retain these ancient little 0-6-0Ts as long as the Branch was retained owing to the weakness of Langston Bridge - until 11/63 when the line was closed.
