This coin belongs to the 'Lis group' of Henry VI's restored coinage, which has characteristics of a separate mint from London. While the standard issues of London are closely die-linked, these 'Lis' coins are not linked to any of those dies, but are themselves closely die-linked. Although this suggests a separate mint, it is also possible that they are a product of a separate officina or workshop of the London mint. It is also possible that these coins are struck at the York mint, whose output is otherwise lacking for this reign.
