Summary

Description
Deutsch: Henschel Hs 123 A-1 (52 + A11), 1./StukaG 165 (1. Reichsgebiet. Die Aufstellungs- u. Stationierungsorte des Sturzkampfgeschwaders 165 lagen bis Mai 1939 in Unterfranken, Oberbayern (5 Monate) und Nordost-Baden:
  • Stab/StG 165 und I. Gruppe/StG 165: Kitzingen vom 1. April 1937 bzw. 1. April 1936 bis 1. Mai 1939 -
  • II. Gruppe/StG 165: Schweinfurt vom 1. April 1937 bis 1. Mai 1939 -
  • III. Gruppe/StG 165: 1) Fürstenfeldbruck vom 1. April 1937 bis Sept. 1937 - 2) Wertheim (Reinhardshof) von Sept. 1937 bis 1. Mai 1939.
Ab ca. Anfang 1938 wurde das Geschwader auf die neue Junkers Ju 87 A-1/A-2 "Stuka" (erste Serienausführung) umgerüstet.
English: Henschel Hs 123 A-1 (52 + A11), 1st/StukaG 165 (1st Squadron/Sturzkampfgeschwader 165), Kitzingen am Main, ca 1937. Series production of the Hs 123 A had started in 1936, assembly plants: Henschel and Ago. The town recognisable in the foreground, with wide feeder or through roads and rows of terraced houses on both sides, is probably not the stationing location of Kitzingen, but a larger town or city in the German Reich at the time, which happened to be flying over at the time the photo was taken. The deployment and stationing locations of Sturzkampfgeschwader 165 were in Lower Franconia, Upper Bavaria (5 months) and north-east Baden until May 1939:
  • Staff/StG 165 and I group/StG 165: Kitzingen from 1 April 1937 and 1 April 1936 to 1 May 1939 respectively -
  • II group/StG 165: Schweinfurt from 1 April 1937 to 1 May 1939 -
  • III group/StG 165: 1) Fürstenfeldbruck from 1 April 1937 to Sept. 1937 - 2) Wertheim (Reinhardshof) from Sept. 1937 to 1 May 1939.
From around the beginning of 1938, the Wing StG 165 was converted to the new Junkers Ju 87 A-1/A-2 "Stuka" (first production version).
