English: Hergeir Nielsen is a former Faroese politician and teacher. He was a member of the Faroese parliament for several years representing Tjóðveldi (former called Tjóðveldisflokkurin, the Republican Party) from 1984-1994 and again from 1998-2011. He was Minister from 1979-81. Nielsen was speaker of the Løgting from 1987-88, 1989 and from 2008-2011. Føroyskt: Hergeir Nielsen hevur verið virkin í føroyskum politikki í meir enn 30 ár, hann er tjóðveldismaður. Hann varð løgtingslimur frá 1984-94 og aftur frá 1998 til 2011. Hann var landsstýrismaður í samferðslu- og skúlamálum 1979-81, løgtingsformaður 1987-88, 1989 og 2008-2011. |
