| Description |
English: Himalayan Griffon Gyps himalayensis in Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh, India. Largest of the Gyps. with a size of about 120 cm., it is always a delight to watch it during Himalayan treks. Seen in the Himalayas from about 3000 ft. to say 13000 ft.
THIS BIRD HAD ALWAYS FASCINATED THE TREKKERS ON THE WAY OVER THE YEARS, AS THEY SAW HIM GLIDE MAJESTICALLY IN THE VALLEYS OF HIMALAYAS FOR LONG PERIODS WITH GOOD VIEWS. IF WE REALLY CALL HIM THE KING OF HIMALAYAS, IT SHALL NOT BE INAPPROPRIATE. |
