Summary

Description
English: KPEV Class G8.1 (DRG Class 55.25) 55 3345 built in 1915. In 1913-21 4948 were built for the KPEV (DRG 55.25) and 10 for Mecklenburg (DRG 55.58), 137 for Elsass-Lorraine, 50 for the German Military Administration in World War I 10 for Kaiser Coal and 185 were exported to Poland, Romania & Sweden (totalling 5155). 691 steam locomotivea G8.1 were rebuilt by DRG in 1934-41 with a pony truck to make them 1'Dh2. Steam locomotives G8.1 were a larger boilered version of the steam locomotives G8 (DRG Class 55.16), 1054 were built for KPEV (including 12 used on the Saarbahnen) in 1902-13. Deutsche Bundesbahn withdrew it's last G8 in 1955. The last DR G8.1 was withdrawn by Deutsche Bundesbahn in 1972. At Bochum Dalhausen Museum Depot.
