DescriptionIstanbul Şehzade complex Tomb of Rüstem Paşa in 2023 3831.jpg
English: This is the mausoleum of grand vizier Rüstem Paşa, who died in 1561. Architect was Sinan. The Strolling through Istanbul book is critical on both its design and its tiles. The building is seen as “too high for its diameter and too small to support the overwhelming quantity of tiles”. These tiles are described as being from about ten years before the Iznik tile production and its Armenian bole reached perfection. I always found it closed, so only took a picture through a window.
