English: Horse tram. Horse trams, which were accepted as the most advanced means of mass road transportation of their time, were inspired from vehicles used in mines to carry coal in England. The first example of a horse tram was seen in New York in 1832 and later they began to be used in Europe. The horse tram made its first trip in Turkey on September 3rd 1872. […] In Turkey, horse trams were replaced by electrical ones in 1914. The one shown here worked route 14 between Beşiktaş and Karaköy and is shown in its original Ottoman livery.
