Jardinière à motif floral Œuvre de Pierre-Adrien Dalpayrat (1844-1910) Grès émaillé vert, brun et rouge Monture en bronze argenté à décor de lézards Collection de la ville de Bourg-la-Reine (92) présentée à la maison familiale du céramiste, la maison Dalpayrat (43, avenue du Général Leclerc, Bourg-la-Reine). Originaire de Limoges, Pierre-Adrien Dalpayrat s'installe à Bourg-la-Reine en 1890 où il développe la technique des grès flammés qui fait la notoriété artistique de son entreprise. Avec différents partenaires et sculpteurs, il participe à de grandes expositions dont l'Exposition Universelle de 1900. L’État lui achète quelques pièces. Malgré des succès et une diversification de sa production avec des faïences artistiques, l'entreprise connait des difficultés financières et doit fermer en 1906. Pierre-Adrien Dalpayrat est un des plus importants représentants des céramistes de style art nouveau. Ses oeuvres sont aujourd'hui dans plusieurs grands musées : musée d'Orsay, musée des arts décoratifs, musée du Petit Palais, etc. La ville de Bourg-la-Reine lui a rendu hommage en achetant sa maison familiale, en la rénovant et en ouvrant une très belle galerie d'exposition au rez-de-chaussée du bâtiment.
