Summary
DescriptionJeff Conine (160505-N-YC845-006).jpg |
English: 160505-N-YC845-006MIAMI (May 5, 2016) Sailors attached to the Virginia-class attack submarine USS California (SSN-781) talk with former Miami Marlins outfielder Jeff Conine before a Major League Baseball game between the Marlins and the Arizona Diamondbacks as part of Fleet Week Port Everglades. Fleet Week Port Everglades provides an opportunity for the citizens of South Florida to witness first-hand the latest capabilities of today's maritime services and gain a better understanding of how the sea services support the maritime strategy and national defense of the United States. The Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard are warfighters first who train to be ready to operate forward to preserve peace, protect commerce, and deter aggression through forward presence.
