English: Johann Jakob von Pistor (1739-1814) is shown on a reddish brown background, in half-length in three-quarters profile, facing right. He is wearing a green uniform of a Russian artillery major, with silver epaulettes, red lapels and a red waistcoat fitted with golden braids. Pistor, a Hessian by birth, in 1771 joined the Russian service and would later become a Lt. General and the Chief of General Staff of Imperial Russian Army
