  • Photograph of the junction at Main Street, Spring Street, and 9th Street, Los Angeles, ca.1917.
  • Main Street and Spring Street begin to span outward creating a triangular shaped block (center). Trolly, and tracks of the Los Angeles Yellow Car streetcars are in the pavement.
  • A majority of the building along these streets is approximately three-stories or taller. There is a fountain in the island situated in the middle of the large multi-directional intersection. The streets are crowded with pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
