The image is used for identification in the context of critical commentary of the work for which it serves as cover art. The image is placed in the infobox at the top of the article, which discusses the work, to show a primary visual image associated with the work and to help the user quickly identify and verify the subject they are seeking. Aside from identification purposes, it shows the artistic style of the subject, particularly the colour scheme, character designs, and strokes, which are critically commented in the article. None of these are easily conveyed by words alone and the imagery helps readers to understand the artistic work in this aspect. |
