BOER WAR MEMORIAL, HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, KENDAL, CUMBRIA
TO THE GLORY OF GOD and in grateful remembrance of the Patriotism of over four hundred men who answered their Country Call for Volunteers for the South African War 1899-1902. They were specially enlisted in Cumberland and Westmorland and served with the 1st Battalion Border Regiment, The 24th Company Imperial Yeomanry and the St John Ambulance Brigade, and more particularly of these thirtyone who laid down their Lives
