  • Zala County, Hungary

In front of the southern wall of the fortress are several graveyards at which, in all, over 1000 graves from the late 4th to the second half of the 9th century have been excavated. Directly in front of the western part of the south wall is a large cemetery of early Keszthely culture (6th-7th centuries). On both sides of the southern gate directly in front of the wall is Carolingian era cemetery from the second half of the 9th century.

Burial of a woman, early 7th century
1. Bead necklace.
2. Disc fibula, silver.

1. Winged lance, iron.

Vor der Südmauer der Befestigung befinden sich mehrere Gräberfelder, auf denen bisher insgesamt über 1000 Gräber vom Ende des 4. bis zur zweiten Hälfte des 9. Jahrhunderts freigelegt wurden. Unmittelbar vor dem westlichen Teil der Südmauer befindet sich ein großes Gräberfeld der frühen Keszthely-Kultur (6.-7. Jahrhundert). Zu beiden Seiten des Südtores direkt vor der Mauer erstreckt sich das karolingerzeitliche Gräberfeld aus der zweiten Hälfte des 9. Jahrhunderts.

3. Schilddornschnalle, Bronze.

1. Flügellanze, Eisen.
2. Angelhaken, Eisen.
