The action of the Krag-Petersson is, as can be seen from the photograph, quite simple compared to modern rifles, consisting only of eight major components: the receiver (A), the hammer (B), the tilting breechblock (C), the firing pin (D), two pins to secure the hammer and breechblock (E and F), a lockplate with a screw to secure the pins (G) and the tubular magazine (not shown in the photograph).

Fair use for Krag–Petersson[edit]

The image Krag-Petersson_fieldstripped.jpg is being linked here; though the picture is originally copyright I (WegianWarrior 06:20, 18 August 2005 (UTC)) feel it is covered by fair use because:

1. No public domain image of the disassembled action of the Krag-Petersson could be found or made.
2. It is of significantly lower resuloution than the original image, as well as cropped to show just the feature discussed in the article.
3. Only 975 of these rifles were manufactured in the first place, and production ended before 1880. Less than a handful exists today, and even less in an original state. Therefore it's impossible or near impossible to replace this image, since the uploader would need to own one that is in its original state to recreate the image.
4. The photo is used for informative and educational purposes only.

I, the uploader, also feels that the photo adds significant value to the article, as it makes it much easier to visualise the interior working of the Krag-Petersson, as well as the general workmanship of the manufacture of the Krag-Petersson.
