DescriptionLaSalle Expressway as seen from 81st Street pedestrian bridge, Niagara Falls, New York - 20221220.jpg
English: View on a December 2022 afternoon looking westward toward downtown Niagara Falls, New York from the 81st Street pedestrian bridge over the LaSalle Expressway. Opened to traffic in 1971, this two-and-a-half-mile controlled-access arterial was intended as the northernmost link in a never-completed Belt Expressway, which would have circumnavigated the city of Buffalo in a wide semicircle a few miles beyond the rights-of-way of Interstates 290, 90 and 190. The Milestrip Expressway in Blasdell would have been its southernmost link.
