The building, at 74A East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and the Bowery in the East Village nieghborhood of lower Manhattan, New York City, which houses the administrative offices and three of the theatres of La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club (La Mama E.T.C.). Their Annex is down the street at 66 4th Street, and rehearsal spaces and other facilities are at 47 Great Jones Street.
The building was occupied by the Aschenbroedel Verein, a German-American musician's society, from around 1860 to 1890. It was taken over by the Schillerbund Gesangsverein, a German-American singing society in 1892, who completely renovated the building. In 1910 the building was known as Floral Garden Hall. The building is in Renaissance Revival style, and has three busts of composers on the facade above the second floor. La Mama has occupied it since 1974.
