This concrete air-raid shelter is one of the few remaining examples in Queensland and provides rare visible evidence of
the effects of World War II.
Such shelters were erected widely on railway stations throughout the State. Landsborough Railway Station was a major transit centre for many thousands of troops who trained in the area.
This plaque was unveiled by Mayor Des Dwyer on William Landsborough Day 22nd June 1996
