'n Goeie eksemplaar van 'n besonder aantreklike spesie met kleurryke blomme en dekoratief golwende blaarrande. Inheems aan die Wes-Kaap (Calvinia-distrik). 'n Knolagtige geofiet, wat hoofsaaklik in woestyn- of droë bosveldbiome groei. Die spesienaam oreogena is Grieks en beteken 'uit die berg gebore', met verwysing na die spesie se hooglandhabitat.

A good specimen of a most attractive species with its richly-coloured flowers and decoratively undulate leaf margins. Native range: W. Cape Prov. (Calvinia District). A tuberous geophyte, growing primarily in desert or dry shrubland biomes. The specific name oreogena is Greek and means ‘born of the mountain’, in reference to its upland habitat. |
