Summary

Description

Pakhlavan Makhmoud (1247-1325) est le saint patron de la ville de Khiva.

Son tombeau a été construit a l'emplacement de son atelier de fourreur, le métier qu'il exerçait, puis a été inclue en 1810 dans le mausolée dynastique des Khans Kungrad. Ce bâtiment à double coupole bleue turquoise est un des symboles de Khiva

L'intérieur de la Khanaka est décoré de majoliques bleues et blanches, réalisées par Abdoullah Djinn. Les tombes des Khans Abdoul Gazi (1663), Anoucha (1681) et Muhammad Rakhim sont placées dans la Khanaka.

Au premier plan, à droite, un puits où viennent boire les jeunes mariés désirant un enfant. Cette pratique se poursuit encore aujourd'hui.
