Wagon pour bénir les foules ayant appartenu au train du Pape Pie IX. C'était la première voiture appelée la Loggia des Bénédictions, construite en 1858

Giovanni Maria Mastai Ferretti (1792-1878) a été pape (à partir de 1846) sous le nom de Pie IX.

Dès son élection, il a fait construire dans les États pontificaux des réseaux ferrés reliant les principales villes. En 1859, Il a pu s'y déplacer en utilisant un train spécial de trois wagons (wagon-loggia des bénédictions, wagon-salle du trône, wagon-chapelle), construit par une compagnie française à Clichy.

C'est aujourd'hui le plus vieux train conservé en Italie, il est exposé dans le musée de la centrale Montemartini.
