Use in article (WP:NFCC#7) | Leonardo (robot) |
Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) | For visual identification of the object of the article. The article as a whole is dedicated specifically to a discussion of this work. |
Not replaceable with free media because (WP:NFCC#1) |
No free version of this photo exists, since it's a copyrighted creation, and I can't take my own photograph either. Someone might be able to take one who works at the lab or give Wikipedia permission to use the file. I've emailed them, but I haven't heard back yet. |
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3) | I am using the image only once in only one article, and I have uploaded a lower-resolution version. |
Respect for commercial opportunities (WP:NFCC#2) |
It shouldn't cut into the commercial value of the photograph or product. I'm just using it once, and it's been published on the web before. |
Other information | The image was created and published by the same author who also holds the rights to the original object, and no alternative depiction could be suitably created. Four possible photographers are listed on the site's Resources page, but it the specific image I'm using has not been credited to one in particular. This picture is necessary for users to understand what this robot looks like (it's difficult to describe in words), and the robot's appearance is part of its success as a social robot. |
