View inside the trainshed just before the station was rebuilt between 1985 and 1992. The tracks in the foreground were remodelled and the platforms shortened to conform with other platform lengths in the station. The loco on the left, a class 47, is waiting with a short parcels train. The other, also a 47, has a silver roof - an embellishment introduced by Stratford depot in 1977 to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's silver jubilee. Behind, the Great Eastern Hotel can be seen - refurbished between 1997 and 1999. On the right, scaffolding has been erected and preparatory work for the station rebuild is underway.
