DescriptionLooff Carrousel, Riverfront Park, Spokane, WA (53796627999).jpg
Built in 2018, this Contemporary building was designed by NAC Architecture and built to house the Looff Carrousel, which was built in 1909. The building replaced the Bavarian Beer Garden Pavilion, built for Expo ’74, which was repurposed to house the carrousel in 1975, but deteriorated due to the originally intended temporary nature of the structure. The building features concrete columns, a large cylindrical wing with glass walls and clerestory windows, which houses the carousel, and a radial wing to one side, clad in rough-hewn stone with a sawtooth facade and small windows.
