Français : Vénus faisant couronner la Beauté par les Grâces, d'après un modèle en terre cuite de Louis-Simon Boizot (1743-1809). Modèle créé en 1773. Biscuit de porcelaine dure, Manufacture royale de Sèvres, fin du XVIIIe siècle (néoclassicisme).
Boizot, comme tous les artistes de la Manufacture de Sèvres, s'inspira d'estampes de Noël le Mire (d'après les dessins de Charles Eisen), qui avaient servi à illustrer Le Temple de Gnide, ouvrage jugé licencieux, de Montesquieu, publié de manière anonyme en 1725.
De nombreux exemplaires ont été fabriqués, pour Louis XVi, le roi Gustave III de Suède, le comte d'Artois, l'impératrice catherine II de Russie, , le comte de Montmorin, le comte d'Aranda, l'empereur Joseph II d'Autriche... Ces exemplaires se retrouvent dans les collections du LOuvre, de l'Ermitage, du Musée nationam de Céramique, , des collections royales anglaises.
Destinée à être utilisée comme surout de table, Boizot a réalisé un pendant de l'oeuvre, Le Triomphe de la Beauté, en 1776.
