Summary

Description
English: Portrait of Luṭfullah Khá, son of Sa dullah Khan, grand vezir of Shah Jahan; single-page painting mounted on a detached album folio. Vezir stands in profile wearing striped white tunic, turban, and carrying a sword and shield. Light blue ground; golden sky in horizon. Framed by thin pink borders with gold motifs along top and bottom of image followed by thin green border with gold motifs; margin decorated with plants in marbled green on neutral ground; entire folio bordered by a thin, green adhesive strip. Inscribed. Folio belongs to a series of single-page paintings and drawings of Indian rulers, all of which were once attached to the leaves of the album 1920,0917,0.13, also housed in the British Museum collection. Ink, opaque watercolour and gold on paper.
