The MONOHANSETT was one of the Great Lakes' many November shipwrecks. Its 35 year career ended in November 1907. When the vessel was just off the shores of Thunder Bay Island, there was a fire on board that lead to a dramatic sinking. Thankfully the Thunder Bay Island Life Saving Station was nearby and there were no lives lost. Today the wreck lies in three sections, one of which is this iconic propeller.
