English: Page from Mary Anning's notebook (facsimile), on display in Dorchester Museum, March 2018. The accompanying sign read 'She Sells Sea Shells. Mary Anning (1799-1847), dubbed 'the greatest fossilist the world ever knew', lived in Lyme Regis. As a child, Anning would go to the beach with her family in search of fossils to sell.
