Description
English: A monument marking the site of the Jonathan Barney—Mason Barney Shipyard in the Barneyville Historic District in Swansea, Massachusetts. The text of the plaque reads:

"Site of the Jonathan Barney—Mason Barney Shipyard 1782-1861

Here were built about 200 ships from small sloops to vessels of 1060 tons which sailed from the Atlantic Coast to the China seas.

Dedicated to their memory by Algernon H. Bell Carolyn Bell Fenley Constance Bell Falconer

Erected by Town of Swansea

1979"
