English: Sketch of a melt spinner. The metal (A) is melted by induction coils (I) and pushed by gas pressure (P) , in a jet through a small orifice in the crucible (K) over the spinning drum (B) where is rapidly cooled to form the ribbon of amorphous material (C)
Français : Schéma illustrant le principe de la trempe sur roue. Le métal (A) est mélangé par induction (I) et poussé à l'aide de gaz sous pression (P) sortant d'un petit orifice du creuset (K) sur le tambour tournant (B), où il se refroidit rapidement en formant un ruban (C).
