Description
Deutsch: Blick vom Amphitheater von Milet Richtung OSO. Die Bildmitte im Mittelgrund nimmt die nördliche Agora ein, links davon der ehemalige Löwenhafen. Wo sich heute die grüne Ebene des Großen Mäander erstreckt, reichte in der Antike das Meer bis zwischen die Berge im Hintergrund, wo als Überrest heute noch der Bafasee liegt.
English: View from the Miletus theatre to ESE. In the central parts of the picture there is the northern agora and to the left there is what was once the Lions' Harbour. Where nowadays there are the green plains of Büyük Menderes River, in ancient times the sea extended between the mountains that can be seen in the background. Nowadays Lake Bafa ist what remains of the sea.
