Description
English: West Point Cadet Sword. Dates to before the release of Model 1873 This diamond-shaped steel blade, with copper bronze handle and cross-guard, With liberty cap pommel: with letters M.A. (Military Academy) on the guard. With steel scabbard. This sword was made by the Ames manufacturing Company "called Military Regulation # 543 first sold around 1866 to West Point Military Academy or the Springfield Armory for issue to the academy till 1872, after that the academy sold their surplus to Farnis Bannerman a military disturber who listed the swords as in good serviceable order, a Souvenir relic of school days of famous Army officers at West Point Price,$15.00 each.
