English: Monoptilon bellioides — common name: Desert Star, Belly Flower
  • Each flower is a little bigger than a US dime coin. It grows less than an inch off the ground, hence the common name 'Belly Flower.'
  • Species from Western North America. Very common throughout Death Valley and the entire Mojave Desert.
  • Photographed in a canyon off Badwater Road, Death Valley National Park, California.
