Summary

Description
English: The Monument to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Poznań. The monument was erected between 1930-1932 to Lucjan Michałowski's design, with the central figure of Christ by sculptor Marcin Rożek and medallions and reliefs by Marcin Rożek and Kazimiera Pajzderska, as a votive for regained independence of Poland. That is why it was also known as the Monument of gratitude. The monument was deliberately destroyed by the Germans in 1939.[1]
