Description A pair of wild North American Elk (Cervus canadensis canadensis) bulls feeding along the edge of a field in the Cataloochee Valley of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. These elk are part of a herd which was transplanted to Cataloochee in 2001, in an attempt to reintroduce the species to the Appalachians in North Carolina.
