Description
English: Namazu-e - Title: Yonaoshi namazu no nasake ("The compassion of the world-reforming catfish" or "Namazu the saviour"). Woodblock print kawaraban pamphlet right after the quake of 1855. The giant catfish believed to cause the earthquake, and subsequent rebuilding meant jobs and income for the unemployed.
