Description
English: Then Brigadier General John A. Lejeune became the first Marine officer to hold an U.S. Army divisional command when he assumed command of the 2d Division, U.S. Army in France on 28 July 1918. He remained in that capacity unit the unit was demobilized in August 1919. He is pictured here next to Major General Omar Bundy, United States Army, former commanding general of the same unit.
