Description
English: a) A schematic showing the formation of a pLL/ATP coacervate within a liposome. ATP from the environment diffuses inside the liposome through α-hemolysin pores. It interacts with pLL molecules present inside the liposome, initiating coacervation throughout the liposome. Over time, individual coacervates coalesce to form a single coacervate. b) Time-lapse fluorescence images (red: lipid bilayer; green: FITC-pLL) showing the coacervation process inside a liposome. Note the simultaneous formation of multiple coacervates that further coalesce to form one single entity. Time zero (t0) corresponds to the first visible sign of coacervation. [1]
